So, come on then... who's bright idea was it to organise an outdoor gig Glastonbury weekend?! With a strange sense of inevitability the day was one of thunder and downpours. Fortunately there wasn't any mud, just a couple of artificial beeches with soggy kids building soggy sandcastles (no we weren't enhancing the Glasto experience with acid! Ed.). It was just a 45 min set but it was a great afternoon; the people of Ella Street didn’t let the weather get in the way of a good time. “They may dampen our hairstyles but they can’t dampen our spirits!” cried drummer and Ella Street resident, Pete, in a Churchillian outburst.

After the show it was back to Mr. Parr’s for a rare social opportunity and a few beers in the Barzebo. Interviewed early the following morning Mr Parr told this reporter “Our recycling man is gonna think Jamie’s moved back in”, shifting several bags of cans and bottles from the garden. Waking with a fuzzy head stinking of smoke – it was just like the real thing.
