Dave Marwood
Bass Guitar
Dave’s musical career started at the age of 13 when he got his first bass and started to teach himself to play. Back in those early days it was just a case of playing along to records so that he could get used to it but this all changed when he was approached by a fellow music lover at school and the band ‘Wicked Lady’ was formed. This first attempt did not last long and Dave was back to bedroom gigs until he was contacted by the drummer from ‘Wicked Lady’ about forming a new band and thus Dave’s first real gigging band ‘The Wild Bunch’ was a reality.
After a few years of gigging with local Goole bands Dave was asked by drummer Andy Richardson, if he would be interested in forming a new band in Hull along with Lead Guitarist Neil Thompson and Guitarist and Singer Dave Parr. This was just the break Dave was looking for and jumped at the chance. With this decision ‘The Lost Boys’ hit the Hull rock scene delivering a truly rocking experience wherever they played. But with the departure of Andy for pastures new it was yet again time to move on and after a few months away from the band scene Dave joined a local outfit called
‘Gridlock’ and was soon joined in this venture by Dave Parr. The two Daves eventually went on to join the aptly named ‘Fly by Night’ and a dark chapter in their history began - a chapter which is best glossed over.
Dave came out of these dark times and joined with singer Suzanne and a wanabe guitarist, who is best left unnamed for legal reasons, and the foundation for ‘Second Sight’ was laid. After a few line-up difficulties the current and best line up of ‘Second Sight’ has arrived and with this Dave has found the fun which is a big part of playing in any band.
